Religious Jewelry

The concept of wearing religious jewelry is precipitous in many believes. A cross is the often takes Christian jewelry that is worn by the Christian as a superficial sign of his or her inner faith in Jesus.
Given as a Baptism gift, a Communion gift, or a Confirmation gift, the traditional catholic religious jewelry is often given as tiny rosaries or small bracelets to babies upon their Baptism. Necklaces and rosaries are often chosen as gifts for First Holy Communion. However, on their confirmation, Christian children receive different saint medals that are the most meaningful.
In order to prepare for their Confirmation, Roman Catholic children select a Saint's name to adopt as their own. For this, usually they go through numerous books about Saints and ask their relatives about their own Confirmation names. Often, relatives bring out the Saints medals they got as gifts on their Confirmations. Also, they share flamboyant memories about the importance of their Patron Saints.
Christian jewelry, such as gold or silver crucifixes, Holy Spirit pins, and rosaries are also given to children as well as others. But, saint medals are the most important to the girl or boy being confirmed.

Several most famous Patron Saints are as below:
St. Philomena – Being mysterious for almost much of her life, it is believed that St. Philomena was martyred at the age of 14. This is why she is the Patron Saint of infants and children.

St. Jude - St. Jude was one of the 12 Apostles and the Patron Saint of desperate cases. His feast day is celebrated on October 28.

St. Thomas Aquinas - St. Thomas Aquinas was born in 1226. He is the Patron Saint of students and of universities. His feast day is January 28.

St. Matthew - St. Matthew is the Patron Saint of bankers because he was a tax collector prior to his conversion. He is one of the 12 Apostles. His feast day is September 21.

St. Agnes - The Patron Saint of girls, St. Agnes was martyred at the age of 13. Her feast day is January 21.

Religious jewelry is not only beautiful; it is an expression of belief. Religious jewelry is an essence of the spirituality the recipient, when given as a gift. And it acts as a token of one's faith in God and recognition when worn beautifully.
